Iris' Flight; A delicate Enamelled Butterfly Pendant

Inspired by Iris, the winged messenger of Greek mythology, this necklace combines vivid lapis lazuli with a delicate blue butterfly motif. ‍ ‍At its centre floats a dainty enamelled butterfly, no larger than a fingernail— with wings painted in the softest shades of cornflower and sapphire blue. The enamel is glassy and luminous, shading gently from pale sky at the centre to a deeper cobalt.

The butterfly hangs from a fine 14k gold-filled curb chain which glints like liquid sunlight. Spaced along its length—at intervals—are the tiniest round lapis lazuli beads.. Their intense midnight-blue colour, flecked with natural golden pyrite, mirrors the deeper tones in the butterfly’s wings and creates quiet flashes of colour as the necklace moves.
